Description |
A striking and unusual Chinese bed screen
of cedar wood. The carved and hand painted motifs depict female generals
from the Song Dynasty's Yang family. The painting is in black and
gold on a rich orange and red background. The beautiful carvings are
surrounded by a mosaic of crushed mother of pearl. This screen would
make a very handsome and unusual overmantel mirror, with antique-style
or contemporary mirror glass. |
